SARAWAK PLANTATION BERHAD LAUNCHES PROSPECTUS
Soon-to-be listed Sarawak Plantation Berhad expects to raise some
RM90mil from its initial public offering (IPO) on the main board of
Bursa Malaysia. Between 2001 and 2006, the company has generated
accumulated revenue of RM763mil and profit before tax of RM220mil. As
one of the main players in Sarawak’s oil palm industry, the listing
would be a catalyst for its future growth and continued excellent
business and operational performance.
The 7th of August 2007 is another milestone for the company as it
launched its prospectus at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The
launching of prospectus ceremony began with speeches by the Group
Managing Director of Sarawak Plantation Berhad; Tuan Haji Mohamad
Bolhair and
followed by the Chairman of CIMB Group Tan Sri Dato’ Md Nor Yusof and
the Guest of Honour Dato Seri Dr. James Jemut Masing, Minister of Land
Development, Sarawak.
The speeches were made against an impressive backdrop of the prospectus
cover where Datuk Hasmi Hasnan later presented Dato Seri Dr. James Jemut
Masing a copy of the prospectus to signify the official launching of the
prospectus. The closing of application for public issue is targeted on
15th August while the balloting of applications will commence on 17th
August. The listing date on Bursa Malaysia has been set on 28th August
2007.
Also included in the programme was a corporate video presentation on
Sarawak Plantation Berhad. After the launching, a press conference was
held followed by lunch and briefing to analysts. The event ended
smoothly in the afternoon after the briefing.
